It's the school holidays and what better way to spend some quality time together than on a fun-filled family staycation.
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur is currently running some great room promotions, such as Double the Family Fun, which allows guests to book an additional connecting room from only RM200 nett. As a mom, I know how important it is to be able to keep the family together during staycations, and everyone getting the space they require for a stress-free vacation.
InterContinental KL is well known for their extra large, plush super king-size bed and boy, did we have a comfortable, good night's sleep! All rooms also come with bathtubs, which is great cos my kids still enjoy some bubble playtime together. The rooms are also equipped with a separate shower with Agraria toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities, workspace/desk, and complimentary Wifi.
When the sun is out, head down to the pool located on Level 5 of the hotel. There are themed floaties (donut, frappucinos and ice lolly during our stay) to keep the kids entertained for hours. For sun worshippers, there are plenty of loungers around the beautifully landscaped pool for sunbathing or lazing around in. There are also a couple of private cabanas for those who prefer the shade.
For those with access to Club InterContinental Lounge, the spacious lounge on Level 26 is accessible on Fridays to Sundays for afternoon tea with snacks as well as evening cocktails with light bites. Club room guests can enjoy Club InterContinental benefits on other days at another designated venue. The exemplary, warm service up here at the Club InterContinental Lounge sure makes guests feel valued and pampered.
Evening cocktail between 5.30pm - 7.30pm, with a fantastic selection of white or red wine, sparkling wine, beer, cocktails, mocktails, hot beverages, fresh juices and soft drinks as well as cheese platter, appetizers, sushi and more.
Breakfast is served, buffet-style, at Serena Brasserie from 6.30am to 10.30am. The selections are great, from local favourites such as nasi lemak, roti canai, kuih-muih, noodle soup to live egg station, pancakes, pastries and more! Currently, Serena Brasserie is only open for buffet lunch on Sundays and buffet dinner daily during the festive season (until 31 December 2021). A la carte and set menus are also available for those who wish to dine here from Monday to Thursdays.
One of the best things about InterContinental KL is the availability of fantastic in-house dining such as Tao Chinese Cuisine and Tatsu Japanese Cuisine, so you don't even need to step out of the hotel in search of good food. We enjoyed a great dim sum lunch at Tao (all-you-can-eat!) as well as some great a la carte dishes such as London peking duck. Tatsu is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in KL, serving up fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine, with exceptional service.

We also indulged in an afternoon tea session, overlooking the scenic secret garden. An absolutely lovely way to spend the afternoon, sipping on Ronnefeldt teas with a nice selection of sweet and savouries from the Christmas Hidden Gem Afternoon Tea set.
Other activities to keep your kids amused: koi fish feeding from 11am to 12.30pm daily. Head over to reception for more details.
